Vasectomy 1.
With the sedated bull in right lateral recumbency, the cranial aspect of the scrotum is clipped, shaved and disinfected for surgery.

Vasectomy 2.
Topical anesthesia of the incision site with the subcutaneous injection of 5cc of 2% Lidocaine.

A 7cm midline incision is made to divide the dartos muscle and expose the vaginal tunics.

Vasectomy 4.
After the vaginal tunic has been exposed and incised, one vas deferens is isolated and clamped with two pairs of forceps 2 to 3 cm apart.

The vas deferens is lifted in preparation for double ligation and transection of a 2 to 3 cm segment.

Ligation of one vas deferens. The procedure is repeated for the contralateral vas deferens.
