Postpartum Problems: Retained Placenta

Retained Fetal Membranes.
Retention of the fetal membranes is uncommon in sheep. The are normally delivered within 6 hours post partum. The ewe should be ballotted for possible retention of an additional fetus but antibiotic therapy is not usually necessary if no dystocia occurred.

Retention of the fetal membranes is uncommon in sheep. The are normally delivered within 6 hours post partum. This ewe is eating and does not need treatment unless it experienced a dystocia.
