Obstetrics: Lambing Facilities

Lambing Pasture.
The ideal lambing facility is a clean pasture in which shade is provided and in which there is no free standing water. It is helpful to have the pasture near the house to facilitate supervision.

Newborn Lamb.
Ewes should lamb in a clean environment to prevent postpartum uterine infections, and to prevent umbilical infections in the lambs.
