Obstetrics: Normal Lambing

Anterior Presentation.
The lamb is in anterior presentation, dorsosacral position, and with normal posture. There is a pause as the hips are being pushed through the pelvic inlet. The amnion has ruptured. The lamb is covered with amniotic fluid.

Spontaneous Delivery.
After delivery it is important to make sure that the face is not covered by the amniotic membranes which would impair breathing.

Fetal Membranes.
After delivery of the (last) lamb the fetal membranes should be expelled. They may be filled with bloody allantoic fluid.
