Glans Penis.
Normal ram glans penis with the filiform urethral process which is a direct extension of the urethra.

Exposing the Penis.
As part of the Breeding Soundness Examination (BSE) the penis is manually extruded to examine it for abnormalities.

Holding the Penis.
The penis is held with the aid of a piece of gauze so it will not slip away during the examination and during the collection of semen. Note the urethral process hanging down.

The penis is examined for lesions and adhesions. Notice the slender urethral process.

Extended Penis.
Normal, extended, erect penis, during physical exam of a mature ram or the process of semen collection by electroejaculation. The ram was positioned sitting on his rump.

Urethral Process.
The penile urethra extends beyond the tip of the penis as a filiform process.

Anomalous Cremaster Muscle.
The cremaster muscle has fanned out and partially covers the testis. This anomaly interferes with the thermoregulatory process.
