Normal Placenta.
The ewe has a cotyledonary type placenta. The caruncles are cup-shaped. The stage of development shown is that of a third-trimester placenta. There are 90 to 100 placentomes in the ewe.
Drost M (1970)

Normal Conceptus.
Normal 4-month old fetus within its membranes. This fetus is surrounded directly by its amnion, which in turn is contained in the allantois. Cotyledons are present on the external side of the chorioallantois.
Smith MC (2006)

Normal Placentation at 35 Days.
The gravid horn of a uterus at 35 days of gestation had been opened to show early caruncular development. The amniotic vesicle is present in the center at the bottom of the picture and is covered by the allantochorionic membranes with a whitish epithelial plaque formation on it.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Chorioallantois at 35 Days.
The gravid horn of a uterus at 35 days of gestation had been opened to show the chorioallantois with faint greyish white epithelial plaque formation.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentomes at 35 Days.
Attachment of the chorioallantoic membranes at 45 days of gestation.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentome at 35 Days.
Attachment of the chorioallantoic membrane inside the caruncular cup at 45 days of gestation.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentomes at 55 Days.
Attachment of the chorioallantoic membrane to the caruncles at 55 days of gestation. There is white epithelial plaque formation on the exterior surface of the allantochorion. Amnion is intact.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentomes at 55 Days.
Placentomes consist of attachment of the chorioallantoic membrane to the caruncles. White epithelial plaque formation is present on the exterior surface of the allantochorion. Intact amnion with fetus.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Fetus and Caruncles at 60 Days.
Fetus and placentation at 60 days of gestation.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentation at 60 Days.
Doughnut-like caruncles 60 days of gestation. The white reflections are epithelial tissue on the external surface of the allantochorion.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentomes at 60 Days.
Attachment of the chorionic membranes inside the carucular cups at 60 days of gestation. The white reflections are epithelial tissue on the external surface of the allantochorion.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placentomes at 60 Days.
Placentome formation at 60 days of gestation. The white reflections are epithelial tissue on the external surface of the allantochorion.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Placention at 65 Days.
The allantochorionic membranes have been opened up to show the clear amniotic sac containing a fetus at 65 days of gestation.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Cotyledonary Placentation.
A. 65 days, B. 55 days, C. 45 days, D. 35 days.
Mogheiseh A (2013)

Triplet Placenta.
There are three amniotic vesicles. Cotyledons are arranged in rows. The normal total number of cotyledons is 90 to 100.
Smith MC (2006)

Chorioallantoic Membranes.
Chorioallantoic membranes with the circumscribed areas that line the caruncular cups.
