CIDR Device.
The Y-shape Controlled Intravaginal Drug Release (CIDR) device is permeated with progestin. The short arms of the Y can be pressed together as the device is backed into the (orange) applicator. Compressing the flexible circle pushes the plunger which expels the CIDR intravaginally.

After the CIDR has been completely inserted into the vagina, a short string-like tail of the CIDR hangs out of the vulva. The CIDR device can be removed by simply pulling on the tail
